Medicine Bottle
Here is a design for the medicine bottles we will be handing out. There is also an instruction/ factual leaflet attached to the bottle that people can read and learn about the use/waste of ink and check themselves exactly how much they waste and how much it is costs etc we havent finalised what exactly will go in the leaflet so this is just an idea.
and i know that there is spelling mistakes, i was doing it quickly!

BLEED- Advert idea
This is an advert poster idea using the new font and i think that this style does work better as an identity for our project.

BLEED-another logo idea?!
Our tutor thought it might be better if we had the same tone of voice running throughout our design work, meaning, the same fonts etc throughout. The hand drawn font i made was an idea for a poster design but he thought it would be good for more maybe? i didnt think using this font for other stuff like the appointment cards would work but i think it looks ok... it gives us a better brand identity than using a regular font i guess

Drips and Syringes
I got some Blood drips and pens that are like syringes but the blood drips are wayyyyy to small, the picture was deceiving! so i have ordered new ones which should hopefully be here this week!
Here they are.
Here they are.
THE DESIGN LAB
Maybe the blood on the appointment cards was too much, and maybe it should look as real to a doctors office as it can, so i have done a few more ideas.
BLEED NEW IDEA
Sssoooo we came up with a new idea last week and i think it is a much stronger way to go.
Basically we are going to treat our exhibition like a doctors office. It will be called 'the design lab' and we will be focusing on how we are killing the planet, and ink is a metaphor for blood and we are wasting it etc. It is not a drastic change to our idea, but it makes it more of an interesting theme. The gazebo we have is a perfect location because it is like a blood donation tent. We will have blood drips, Syringes, medicine bottles, perscriptions, eye charts, medical poster-esque ideas on the walls, a bed, a clipboard chart, get well cards. All of which will be somehow related to how designers waste ink and paper. Man represents design. The Planet represents use of ink and paper. Man is killing the planet- Design is 'killing'(wasting) ink/paper.
So iv been doing a lot of work to catch up and see how its going to look, including- logos, designs, labels, appointment cards, posters, the final posters will be handmade.

BLEED-Exhibiton idea
Having got feedback from our tutor about how our 4 ink installations should be more of an active sculpture, i was thinking that at the end of the exhibition the ink could b opened out and people could some how write on a large bit of paper to create their own art.
Then i started thinking of recycled paper and how it could be used in this installation too.
I then looked up how to make your own recycled paper and it seems pretty easy, so i was thinking that we could make a lot of our own recycled paper and people could then use this to drop their ink onto to create their own art. They could also take samples of the paper away with them with instructions on how to make it themselves. This would make people more aware of the importance of paper and ink and hopefully make them think about reusing and recycling it themselves. I think this would make our exhibition more interesting and make people want to come, rather than just looking round a bunch of posters and a sculpture actually getting people involved will make the message sink in.
BLEED- Poster ideas again
This is an A4 poster idea from below that i fixed. I think it looks quite good, however the photo quality isnt great because it has taken away the smudges that are in the original. I would like to continue with this sort of design.

BLEED-poster ideas
i started thinking of more ways in which we could express saving ink. I came up with the idea of ink being a designers blood and, it is THAT important to us, but we overuse it and don't think about how much we use. I then started thinking that, if ink really was blood, would we waste it?
This is my first, rough, attempt at a poster design. I am trying to get hold of a blood drip that would make a powerful photo if it was filled with ink.

BLEED Poster Designs
Here are some more poster designs i have done. I drew the handmade type and added the block lines and i think overall it looks simple but strong. This style is normally something i wouldn't use but i think it works well. I do however think that the text needs to be a slightly bigger point as it looks quite thin and nearly unreadable on screen.

Poster Ideas
Here are some poster ideas that i have done using hand drawn type and an image. I like the simplicity of the poster. For these posters i changed the text from sticking to boring statistics that we found, to something more appropriate to the audience- a clear bold statement.
NEW GROUP LOGO
today whilst my tutor was flicking through my sketchbook, he noticed an early logo design called 'bleed' that i had come up with but i moved on from that because i didn't think at the time it suited our project. now that we are completely focused on our idea, i think BLEED is a suitable name, and have changed the logo! I will now have to completely update the Facebook, twitter, proposal etc and change it to Bleed! It does sound more edgy and interesting!
Here are some different designs we could use for different things, the only thing that doesnt change it the text itself.
