Exhibiton- Brand name ideas

I have decided to rebrand the name of our company and have come up with some new ideas as to what we should be called. I was thinking along the lines of Paper and ink, as this is what our original name was and have came up with PULP RAINBOW. Pulp- because of paper, and rainbow because of ink/colour wheel/colour spectrum. Here are some of my ideas for fonts and designs. 

I think that if we were to have a logo, it would be a simple colourful shape, like a ball of paper with maybe drips of colour running through it or even the CYMK colours dripping through it instead.

Exhibiton

For Thursday we have to design a proposal and present it in 5minutes to the class. This proposal will let everyone know exactly what we aim to do, and how we will go about doing it. I have been doing some experimenting with layouts and here is examples of them. We have to include examples of work in progress, so this is what i have done. The text is just a sample text and would be changed in the proper one. I have also came up with a new brand name which i will post about later.

Exhibition

Here is some work i have done for our exhibition. They are a3 posters based on paper waste facts and i think they have turned out quite well. As they are cropped i hope that they do not become blurry or pixelated when printed.

This is a rough idea of the kind of design we would like to use as one of our posters. It is influenced by the Ben and Jerrys advert shown below. The font will probably be different, but it is a good example of what it would look like.

When i was researching on the internet i came across this advertisment by Ben and Jerrys. This advert would be interesting in our exhibiton if we changed it to ink drops and the CMYK colours.

These are some designs i have did for a brand for our Group Exhibiton. I found it hard to think of a good team name, so PAPERINK is the name i have came up with because our exhibition is based on these two things.

Here are some experiments with Ink and water. I think these experiments have been very useful for our research and development as to how we would create an inky substance for our 5l bottles.

Exhibition Group Project

We have a long group project which lasts until christmas were we have to design an exhibition. We were given a list of themes to chose and my group has chosen Sustainability. We are going to focus on the waste of ink. Having researched on ink wastage i found out that when most printers say that the ink cartridge is empty there is actually up to 60% ink still in the cartridge. 

We want to shock people with our exhibition so we have decided to create an installation to represent the facts about wasted ink. We will make a structure of 4 5l bottles filled with the CYMK colours for each. We will also have cups filled with the replica ink that we will make. for example; if there is 5000ml of ink wasted. one cup-10ml and we would have 500 cups. This is just an example. We also aim to have a range of posters, an animation and a typography design aswell. The location of our exhibition is undecided. 

8 Page Publication Project

We were given a two day project this week where we had to visit a gallery and make an 8 page publication based on it. It is a group project and my group went to the Ulster Museum where the RUA had their annual exhibition of art. Unfortunately the RUA would not allow photographs or videos to be taken, and this is what we based our publication on. We would included quotes from signage we saw around the exhibition like 'fragile, do not touch' 'please wear gloves provided' 'please do not take photographs' and 'please do not touch' which is what the title of our publication would be. 

The images shown here are supposed to represent the fact that you aren't allowed to take photographs of the exhibition so we chose to take photos of the architecture of the exhibition on purpose. It is to show that the architecture of the building is very interesting and that maybe its ok that you aren't allowed to take photographs of the art, as there is a lot more to look it.

Here are a few more images that we were asked to take for our Imaging 2 module. 
Week 3 was based on light and i chose to look at the sunlight and how it shined on a palm tree and its leaves. I think linear aspects are interesting and the patterns of light make the piece look quite abstract. 

Printing Project

On tuesday we were asked to make a simple pdf document. We were learning about CMYK print and RGB print and so our document had to include an image, text and all the printer marks.

Branding Project

this is a 2 week project that we were given in Tuesdays class. We were asked to pick a brand or company and collect any leaflets, information, website etc etc etc. We had to pick a brand we that relates to something we are interested in. An obvious choice would be a shop brand, but i think i get more leaflets and merchandise from clubs show i have chosen to use the Box club in Belfast.

For our next project we have to take an object or theme and create 6 more photographs, in black and white, and each photograph must link with the other through composition.  After thinking of ideas, i have chosen to use watches and these are a few of my initial photo ideas. 

i think i have to focus more on getting a specific composition and use a bigger range of watches and designs to complete this project. i am finding out more about how to use the manual setting on my camera and i am happy with the close up shots and detail that i achieved.
